Acrylic Paintings on Birch Panel
“My artwork is an extension of who I am, a lover of life and art. I paint using non-traditional application methods to create graphic, textural paintings that reference my life experience. Through hand stenciling many layers of paint on wood panel, I layer hard-edged shapes that together create a quilt-like surface through juxtaposed colors and textures.”
Wood Assemblage
Sculptural Works for the Wall
“Working with wooden shapes I cut out, sand, paint, and assemble has been an important part of my painting practice for years. Echoing my love of craft processes in fiber, my wood assemblages are color studies that often reference natural forms or the landscape I was raised in.”
About the Artist:
I was raised in Greenville, South Carolina where I spent most of my youth digging wild clay in the creek, catching critters in the woods, and exploring in nature.
Making artwork has always been a part of the way I process my life experiences and my environment.
My life and my work are intertwined. I make paintings and sculptures that tow the line between observation and abstraction through playful processes and concepts.
